Adam Stefaniw

Recess Teacher

Mr. Adam has been bringing energy and heart to recess at Roots since 2020. A proud Roots parent himself, Mr. Adam loves spending his days playing, laughing, and building connections with all of our students—especially his two daughters who attend Roots. Whether leading kickball showdowns, organizing capture the flag, or cheering on Run Club runners, Mr. Adam is always in the middle of the action.

Beyond the playground, Mr. Adam helps foster a positive school culture by ending each recess with group reflection, recognition, and calming breathing exercises, setting students up for success as they return to class. Known for his steady presence, easy rapport with kids, and natural talent for resolving playground conflicts, Mr. Adam is affectionately known by students as the fun teacher (and the fun dad).

Before joining Roots, Mr. Adam spent many years volunteering with youth-focused nonprofits, supporting programs for homeless, foster, and low-income children. His involvement grew from his love of community, a readiness to help, and his support of his wife’s work as a nonprofit director. Those experiences helped nurture the kindness, patience, and sense of belonging he brings to every child at Roots.
