Leanne Uttech

Leanne Uttech is a gifted educator who brings warmth, creativity, and over 20 years of teaching experience to her Kindergarten classroom. She has taught in both public and private school settings and is beloved by students and parents alike for the joyful, nurturing environment she creates. In 2012, she founded and operated her own preschool in Chelan, inspired by her passion for early childhood education and her desire to create a meaningful learning experience for her own children.

Leanne graduated from Western Washington University with a B.A. in Education, focusing on Interdisciplinary Child Development. In 2006, she earned her Master’s of Education in Integrating Arts & Performance Learning from City University. This advanced study continues to shape her teaching, as she weaves music, movement, and the arts into everyday lessons, making learning both engaging and memorable.

At Roots, Leanne is known for her extraordinary ability to connect with young children—building their confidence, sparking their curiosity, and helping them transition smoothly into their educational journey. Her dedication, creativity, and deep care for each child make her an irreplaceable part of the Roots community.

This was the driving force behind developing my preschool curriculum and is one of the many reasons I am inspired to teach at Roots.”
