Johanna Anderson

Johanna is a former occupational therapy practitioner with eight years of preschool teaching experience and a strong commitment to fostering the growth and development of young children. She has specialized expertise in supporting the development of executive function—the critical skills that enable children to manage their thoughts, actions, and emotions, which are foundational for effective learning and long-term success. Her extensive background in child development, combined with hands-on, experiential teaching strategies, allows her to create a classroom environment that is both structured and nurturing. As a mother of three, Johanna also brings valuable personal insight, helping her tailor her approach to meet each child’s unique needs while ensuring they feel supported, challenged, and encouraged to reach their full potential.

“I feel so blessed to be a part of Roots Community School. I am honored to work with a group of people who are so passionate about learning and guiding children through the process of becoming humble, tenacious, and innovative learners. I am excited to be a part of the pre-k program where I can use my skills and education for both early learning and occupational therapy. I am eager to help support and guide our youngest learners to develop their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive skills to give them a strong foundation for a love of learning that will carry them through their years of education.”
